A One Woman ShowMy name is Emma, founder of WilderBlooms. After finding it difficult to get my hands on some truly seasonal, sustainable flowers. I decided to take matters into my own hands, and started WilderBlooms at the end of 2022.
I grew up on a farm in Ayrshire, and after a brief stint in the city studying Biology I gravitated back to the Ayrshire countryside. I'm an avid gardener and passionate environmentalist. I'm happiest outside, in nature and twiddling around with flowers. Protecting the planet and our local eco systems is fundamentally important to me. I apply my sustainable and eco friendly values to all my work at WilderBlooms. |
How is WilderBlooms Different? Not your traditional high-street florist. mainly cause I work almost entirely online, other than the odd market.
Cottage-garden style arrangements are my thing. Higgledy, colourful, textured arrays of locally grown, sustainable flowers of all shapes and sizes. Arranged like you've gone out into a overgrown country garden and grabbed an armful. I work primarily with locally grown, sustainable flowers from here in Ayrshire. Occasional, to meet demand, I buy in from elsewhere in the UK. I try to be fully transparent with my sourcing. If its not on the product page, just ask me and I will tell you! |
ValuesThe UK flower industry is anything but natural. It's estimated that of this £1.3billion industry, over 90% of the cut flowers are imported from abroad.
Imports to heated greenhouses, pesticides to plastics, our desire for pristine, mass-produced, off-season flowers damages the very environment which sustains the flowers, pollinators, animals, and ultimately ourselves. WilderBlooms brings floristry back to basics. No air miles, no chemicals, no nonsense. Just locally grown, sustainable flowers, with hand delivery in Ayrshire by your friendly local florist. |
